Every year Winthrop, WA hosts an annual Balloon Festival in March. March in the Northern Cascades is still mostly winter, and in the 2018, I made the trip and got a beautiful sunny day on the first day of launch. I have visited several more times, packing more elaborate gear, but never have I seen it so beautiful, or captured such photos.
